Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, 23 Jun 1944

Funeral services for William C. B. Gellendin, 71, of 671 North Jackson street 
were held Thursday afternoon with a prayer service at the residence at 2 
o’clock and funeral services at 2:30 o’clock at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran 
church.  Rev. R. A. Rook officiated and burial was in the family lot in 
Highland Park cemetery.  

Pallbearers were Peter Diehm, Paul Schipper, Charles Kosbar, Otto Rubach, 
William Miller and Herman Hafner.  Floral arrangements were in charge of Mrs. 
William Miller and Mrs. Peter Diehm.

Attending services from away were Pfc. Frederick Gellendin of Atlantic Beach, 
Fla., Mr. and Mrs. Richard Swartz, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Zanders and Mrs. William 
Zanders of Greenville; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Uekert and Mr. and Mrs. Richard 
Uekert of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Don Hackett of Lansing.
