Gemuend, Ionia Barber, Dead Albert J. Gemuend, aged 69 years, died at his home, 220 West Washington street, Friday evening. He had been in poor health several months, but had sufficiently recovered from his ailment, heart disease, to be able to go to Detroit, where he had employment at his trade, in a barber shop. Six weeks ago he was taken worse and returned home. He ate his supper Friday night and went out onto the porch with a paper and soon after he sat down, Edward Henshaw, who was also out there, saw Mr. Gemuend sink into his chair as though critically ill. He hastened to him and with the assistance of Mrs. Gemuend carried home into the house, where he died before the arrival of a physician. Mr. Gemuend was born in Ionia and had lived here all of his life. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose. Besides the widow, he leaves one son, William A. Gemuend, a barber in the Spidle Barber shop; and two brothers, Leonard P. Gemuend, of Ionia, and Mathew J. Gemuend, of Racine, Wis. The funeral services will be held from the Bradley funeral home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and the burial will be made in Highland Park cemetery. Rev. Joseph H. Green will be in charge of the services.
