Sentinel-Std. - Tuesday, March 25, 1941

A private funeral service was conducted Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. for three-
year-old Julia Gemuend, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Gemuend, of Stony 
Creek, whose death occurred accidently late Saturday afternoon. Rev. Fr. John 
S. Fons, officiated at the service which was held from SS. Peter and Paul 
church. Members of the family from this vicinity and a few close friends were 
present to mourn her loss. 

Bearers were Clarence Miller and Harold Miller of Pewamo, Bruce Pierce and John 
Longe of Ionia. Interment was at Mt. Olivet cemetery at Prairie Creek. 

Tuesday, March 25, was to have been a day of celebration in the family of 
little Julia as that was the day she was to observe her fourth birthday 
anniversary. Instead the grief-stricken family gathered for the funeral 
services and to view the child for the last time as she lay in her casket. 

Julia was instantly killed late Saturday afternoon by an automobile as she ran 
across M-21 in front of her home to greet her father as he came from work.
