The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Monday, October 6, 1913
Leonard F. Gemuend, aged 90 years, an old resident of Ionia, who for many 
years has conducted the Central house, died at his home there, 212 West 
Washington street, Sunday afternoon, after a long illness with pneumonia.

Subsequent Publication:  Wednesday, October 8, 1913

The funeral for the late L. F. Gemuend was held this morning from the church 
of SS. Peter & Paul at 9 o’clock.  The pallbearers were Geo. Endres, John 
Endres, Joseph Wieczorek, Dan Wittish and Frank Wirtz.  Those from out of the 
city here to attend were Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Gemuend of Racine, Ed. Jacobs and 
Mrs. Ida Jacobs of Greenville, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rohler of Muir, L. P. 
Gemuend of Grand Rapids, A. J. Gemuend of Howard City.  The G.A.R. post turned 
out in a body.
