The Ionia County News, Thursday, June 29, 1944
Mrs. L. P. Gemuend, 87, died at her home, 212 W. Washington, about 10:30 
Wednesday morning, June 28.  Kathryn Jacobs was born near Cleveland, O., 
December 25, 1856.  The family moved to Ionia from Cleveland and she was 
married here to Leonard P. Gemuend.  Mr. Gemuend died ten years ago.

Surviving are a son and daughter, Harry H. Gemuend and Mrs. W. Fred Longe, 
both of Ionia; a sister, Mrs. Charles Bair, Martindale, Montana; five 
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Gemuend was a member of SS 
Peter and Paul church and the Rosary Society.

Funeral service will be from SS Peter and Paul church at nine o’clock Saturday 
morning and burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
