Ionia Weekly Standard, 7 Feb 1890

Odessa. – Joseph George died in this village on Sunday, of paralysis, aged 85
years.  He was one of the first settlers in this township, having moved here
from Ohio in 1860.  He leaves a wife about 80 years of age, who joined hands
with him 56 years ago, also three adult daughters and one son, Mrs. Stephen
Haight, of Lake Odessa, being the oldest daughter.  He was very highly respected
and the whole family are well connected.

[Transcriber’s note:  There is a notation on the obituary card that he was
buried in Lakeside Cemetery.]
