She was the only girl in a family of eight children, four of whom survive her after the death of the mother, in 1872, the father having died nine years previous. She came to Michigan and lived with an aunt. She was married to Wesley George in June 1875. Their union was blessed with two daughters, one of whom died in infancy. She was an invalid for nine years, the last two months being perfectly helpless. Two weeks before her death, realizing that the end was near, she called her family to her bedside and gave full instructions as to her will and her funeral, adding you know I love flowers, when I am gone cover me with flowers, and shed not a tear for me for I go to a better home. She was a daughter of affection, but when God's finger touched her she slept. The funeral was held at 1:30 o'clock Sunday, the 9th inst., at the Myers church. Rev. B.H. Mourer officiating. Text: 1st Cor., 9_15, "It was better for me to die". The floral offerings were numerous and perfectly beautiful. The house was filled to over flowing; fully half the people not being able to gain admittance. The remains were interred in the Lakeside Cemetery, where they rest. Peace be to her ashes.
