Born in Fowler, November 9, 1879, he was the son of Edward and Julia George and was married to the former Katherine Geller. He lived on the farm between Fowler and Pewamo, until fifteen years ago when he moved to the village of Pewamo. Preceded in death by his wife 17 years ago, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Harold Frechen of Long Lake, Mrs. Fred Slowinski of Ionia and Mrs. Stanley Smith of St. Johns’ three sons, Roy George of Fowler, Leo George and Joseph George Jr. of Pewamo; four sisters, Mrs. Frank Fedewa of Fowler, Mrs. Anthony Rademacher of St. Johns, Mrs. Andrew Posen of Farmington, and Mrs. Clifford Peterson of Detroit; 25 grandchildren. The body will be at the Geller funeral home in Westphalia and rosary services will be held Tuesday afternoon, March 27 at 3 o’clock and at 8 o’clock in the evening. Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph’ church in Pewamo Wednesday morning, March 28, at 10 o’clock and burial will be in the Holy Trinity cemetery in Fowler.
