Hasting's Reminder - Saturday April 2, 2022

                       GWENDOLYN ELIZABETH GERLINGER

Gwendolyn Elizabeth Gerlinger, age 101, of Hasting's, MI. passed away on March 
30, 2022 at Hasting's Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Hastings.

Gwen was born in Wakefield, NE, on November 1, 1920 the daughter of the late Ben 
and Esther Lund.

She was raised in the Wakefield area, graduating from Wakefield High School in 
May 1938. Her education continued at the Omaha Methodist School of Nursing, 
graduating with the RN degree in February 1942.

Four days later, she married Russell "Doc" Gerlinger, formerly of Woodland, also 
a registered nurse having met in Hastings, NE. In July 1942, they relocated to 
Hastings, MI and spent her full life in and near Hastings.Working first in 
Battle Creek for one year then at Pennock Hospital in Hastings where she served 
faithfully from 1943 to 1978.

Gwen is survived by her sons, David (Mary) Gerlinger, Richard (Sue Gayle) 
Gerlinger; grandson,Kevin (Lindsey) Gerliner; great-grandson, Avery Gerlinger; 
nephew, John (Lori) Clement; nieces, Jane Tanner, and Mary (Greg) Guggemos.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years; brother, Verdell 
(Kathryn) Lund of Wakefield, NE, and nephews,Charles, Dan, Galyn and Gary Lund 
also of Wakefield, NE.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Daniels 
Funeral Home-Hasting's, 1401 North Broadway, Hastings, MI.

The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 
a.m at the Daniels Funeral Home-Hastings. A luncheon will follow.

Interment will take place at Woodland Memorial Park off Velte Road, in Woodland.

Funeral arrangements  have been entrusted to the Daniels Funeral Home-Hastings.
