                              LAWRENCE GETTS

IONIA-Lawrence Getts, 87, of Belding, formerly of Ionia, died Thursday at 
Belding Christian Nursing Home.

He was born June 22, 1901, in Evergreen Township, Montcalm County, the son of 
Frank and Carrie Spencer Getts.

He worked at Ypsilanti-Reed, Consumers Power, and the A.O. Smith Co., from which 
he retired as an inspector.

He lived in Ionia for 65 years and was married to Estella Perry on April 25, 
1925, in Montcalm County. She died April 4, 1969.

Surviving are three nieces; Donna Brimmer of Belding, Shirley Gould and Suzanne 
Borton, both of Saranac; and several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Complete funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cook Funeral Home, 
with the Rev. Marvis Hale from Grace Baptist Church officiating.

Burial will be in Balcom Cemetery in the spring.

The family will be at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
