The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, September 7, 1977
Russell L. Getts, 80, of 310 Delano Street, Ionia, died Tuesday morning at the 
Ionia Manor.  Born March 19, 1897, in Ohio, he retired from A.O. Smith of 
Ionia.  He owned and operated the Martha Washington restaurant for a number of 
years, while making his home in Ionia for the past 50 years.  

Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Erwin (Velma) Terwilliger of Ionia, two 
grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his 
wife, Addie, in 1966.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. from Stebbins-Simpson funeral home in 
Sheridan, the Rev. Gerald Bowen of the First Congregation church officiating.  
Family members will be at the funeral home to receive relatives and friends 
Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  Burial is in 
Evergreen cemetery.
