He went to the house with mail and found deliveries of milk for the last two mornings on the steps, and noticed the door ajar, whereupon he decided to set the bottles inside. When he pushed the door farther open he found her lying face downward, on the floor where she had fallen. Deputy Sheriff Derrick and Coroner Boynton were summoned, and Dr. McCann was also called. Examination showed that she had probably died Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. She was seen outside early Wednesday evening, and at 8:30 a neighbor, Mrs. Lord, saw a light in the house. She was fully dressed when found. Dr. McCann reported that she had long suffered with heart trouble, and an inquest was decided to be unnecessary. The remains were removed to the undertaking rooms of Winchell & Stone and the funeral will be held tomorrow morning at nine o’clock at the Church of SS. Peter & Paul. Two nephews, Joseph and John O’Connor of Owosso, the only known relatives, have been notified, and one of them is expected tonight. Mrs. Gibbons was born in Ireland, but her residence here has been so long that she was regarded as one of the city’s pioneers. She was 79 years old last December, and had lived many years in the house where she died.
