The Portland Observer, Wednesday, August 7, 1889
Died of Bright’s disease, at the residence of his son, Norman Gibbs, in 
Sebewa, on the 5th inst., Robert Gibbs, aged 71 years.  He was the father of 
Norman and Byron Gibbs of Sebewa, and Postmaster George Gibbs of Carson City.  
The old gentleman has been about the village for some time, and had become 
somewhat deranged.  He was known here as Dr. Gibbs.
