Gibbs Dead. George B. Gibbs passed away Monday, March 9th, 1903, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Popplewell of Greenville, aged 72 years. Mr. Gibbs was born in Pittstown, N.Y., in 1831, and in 1845 came with his parents to Otisco, where he grew to manhood and on October 26th, 1853, was married to Mary L. Wait who passed to the other life on March 9, 1853, just 37 days to the day prior to his death. He leaves three daughters, Mrs. George Popplewell, of Greenville; Mrs. Emma Stevens, of San Francisco, and Mrs. Nettie Kellogg of Hoquin, Wash., besides a brother and two sisters survive him. He left his farm in Otisco and moved to Greenville in 1873, where he has resided 29 years. Mr. Gibbs was a member of the Masonic fraternity in which he held offices of trust and responsibility. He was also a charter member of the O.E.S. of Greenville; a member of the A.O.U.W. of which he was master five years; was master of subordinate Grange five years. He was Past High Priest in Royal Arch chapter, F. & A. M. The funeral will be held at the M.E. church in Greenville today and the remains taken to the Otisco cemetery for interment.
