Harvey A. Gibson, 82, of Ionia died early Saturday in Sheridan Community 
Hospital. Born in Wyandotte County, Ohio, Oct. 8, 1902, he was the son of Orley 
and Sarah Swick Gibson. He attended schools in Ohio and in rural Montcalm 
county after his parents moved to Michigan.

He was married to Leona McClow Dec. 31, 1934, in Ionia. They made their home in 
the Palo and Ionia areas.

A self-employed truck driver, he was a member of the Ionia County Road 
Commission in 1931 and drove Palo School bus from 1949 to 1958.

From 1958 to 1968 he was the manager of the Ionia County Infirmary at the time 
it closed. 

He is survived by a daughter, Rose Peterson, four grandchildren and two great 
grandchildren; a foster daughter, Mrs. Bry (Phyllis) Condon of Lowell, four 
foster grandchildren and seven foster great grandchildren.

He wife Leona preceded him in death July 18, 1984.

Cremation has taken place. 

A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Easton United 
Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kay Williams officiating
