Gibson, 82, of Ionia died late Wednesday at Sheridan Community Hospital. She was born in Sidney on June 28, 1902, the daughter of William and Anna Clapper McClow. She was married to Harvey Gibson in Ionia on Dec. 31, 1924. They made their home all their married life in the Ionia and Palo areas. She was employed at AC Sparkplug in Ionia during World War II, worked at the old Ionia Hospital on Jackson Street, and with her husband managed the Ionia County Infirmary from 1958 until its closing in 1968. She was also a Palo School bus driver, one of the first women bus drivers in the state of Michigan. She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Rose Peterson of Ionia; four grandchildren; a foster daughter, Mrs Bry (Phyllis) Condon of Lowell, four foster grandchildren and seven foster great grandchildren. No visiting hours will be held at Leddick Funeral home, which is making the arrangements. Memorial services will be Friday at 7 p.m. at the Easton United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Eldon Schram of Easton and Zion United Methodist Churches officiating. Burial in Palo Cemetery.
