The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, February 6, 1951


Andrew D. Gibson passed away at his home on Ellison Road in Keene Township, 
Monday noon at the age of 83.  He had been ill in bed only two weeks and a 
half. He was born September 17, 1867, the son of William and Mary Gibson and 
lived on the farm which was homesteaded by his grandparents.  Twenty-one years 
of his life he spent prospecting in the Western states and in 1905 was married 
to Katherine Martin, from Idaho.  She passed away in 1929.

Surviving is one son, Don and four grandchildren, Mary Kay, Becky, Forrest and 
David, all at home.

The remains were cared for at Fales-Huffman funeral chapel and taken to the 
family residence on Tuesday where funeral rites will be held today, Thursday, 
at 2:30 with Rev. H. S. Ellis officiating.  Burial will be in Easton cemetery.

Pall bearers are George Feuerstein, Guy Wilburn, Frank Shindorf, Lawrence 
Shindorf, Julius Rittersdorf and George Scheid.
