Gisbone Although not unexpected the announcement of the death of Mary A., wife of T.C. Gibsone on Wednesday afternoon was received with universal regret. She had been a resident of Ionia for 20 years and during that time she had endeared herself to a large number, and had many very warm friends. Of a kind, loveable and social disposition, she was held in the highest esteem even by those who knew her little, and in her death those who were her personal friends mourn one to whom they were sincerely attached. Mary A. Gibsone was born in Maidstone, Kent, England 47 years ago, was married to Thomas C. Gisbone in her native country. They came to America in 1872, locating in Detroit where they lived for two years, when they moved to Ionia where they have resided. She leaves behind her husband Thomas C. Gibsone, and three daughters, Mrs. Harry E. Spencer, Mabel and Blanche Gibsone. The funeral was held from the family residence, 302 High street on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Services by Rev. W.H. Thomas D.D. Interment in Highland Park. Additional Comments: Funeral: Friday, 4 January, 1895 Highland Park cemetery, Sect. 4 Ionia Sentinel: Friday, Jan. 4, 1895 Entered Into Rest. The funeral of Mrs. Mary A. Gibsone took place this afternoon, from the residence on High street, and was largely attended. Services were conducted by Rev. W.H. Thomas, D.D., and the music was by the choir of St. John's church. The floral offerings were bountiful and beautiful. The pillow from her three daughters, with the simple inscription, "Mother" - the floral piece from Mr. Wetterling, was especially noticeable and beautiful. The bearers were C.W. Parons, R.H. Bedford, James Vosper and E.R. Bailey. Interment was at Highland Park.
