She was born September 16, 1856, in Wittenburg, Germany, and came to the United States with her parents at the age of 12 years. They made their home in Ann Arbor. June 13, 1880, she was married to Charles Gierman of Ionia and the couple spent the first 12 years of married life in Edmore, and for the past 51 years she has made her home on a farm in Sebewa. She was a member of the Sebewa Center Methodist church. There were 11 children in the family, four dieing in infancy. Surviving her are three daughters Mrs. Warren Walsh at Sunfield. Mrs. Clarence Sayer at Sebewa Center, and Mrs. Edgar Nash in Ionia. three sons, Robert Gierman and Carl Gierman at Sebewa center and Elmer Gierman in Ionia. A fourth son George preceded her in death two years ago; 20 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren; one sister Mrs. Ernest Radsack in Ionia. Funeral services were held at the Sebewa Center church Wednesday afternoon and burial was in the family lot in Highland Park cemetery.
