Sebewa Pioneer Taken By Death

Charles A. Gierman, Well Known Farmer, Passed Away Last Friday

Charles A. Gierman, 81, died at his home at Sebewa Center last Friday.  Funeral 
services were held from the late home Sunday afternoon with burial in Highland 
Park cemetery.

Mr. Gierman was born in Prussia and came to this country when 14 years of age.  
Since that time he had lived in Ionia county with the exception of 12 years 
which he spent in Edmore.  In 1880 he was united in marriage to Christine 
Klager, of Ann Arbor, who survives him.  Seven children also survive, Mrs. 
Nettie Nash, of Ionia; Mrs. Mrs. Edna Sayer, of Sebewa Center; Mrs. Cora Walsh, 
of Sunfield; Robert, George and Carl, of Sebewa, and Elmer, of Lansing.
