The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, November 2, 1931

Mrs. Caroline Gierman, aged 85 years, passed away at the home of her daughter, 
Mrs. Orman Sible, East Lincoln avenue, Sunday evening at 6 o’clock.  Mrs. 
Gierman had not been ill and had prepared to go to church Sunday morning but 
was unable to leave the house.  

She was born in Germany and came to this country 60 years ago.  Her husband 
died 34 years ago.  She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ormand Sible, with 
whom she made her home, one son Charles, of Grand Rapids, six grandchildren, 
two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  

The funeral will be held from the Sible residence Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 
o’clock.  Rev. B. H. Succop will officiate.  Burial will be in Highland Park 
cemetery.
