Ionia Sentinel Standard, 9 Apr 1991

Jack Paul Gierman, 75 formerly of the Ionia area died Aug. 3 in Sun City Ariz. 
He was born January 15, 1916, the son of William C. and Mary A. Gierman.  He was
graduated from Ionia High School in 1935 and attended Ferris State University
and Purdue University.  He was employed by Chevrolet Division of General Motors
as a Consulting Engineer for 40 years.  Upon his retirement from General Motors
in Detroit, he accepted a position in the same capacity with Giffel’s of Detroit
and Sonk of Southfield, traveling extensively in Europe for both firms.  On
October 14, 1939 he was married to Barbara Jane Ramsey of Muncie, Ind.

He is survived by his wife, his daughter Dianne Heisner of Grosse Pointe Woods,
two sons; William of St. Clair Shores and Robert of Griffith, Ind., nine
grandchildren and his sister Pauline of Saranac.

He was a member of the Crown of Life Lutheran Church in Sun City.  Funeral
Services were held from the church at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6.
