Elmer R. Gierman, 93, of Alma, died Monday at the Masonic Home of Alma.  He was
born Sept. 5, 1900, in Sebewa, the son of Charles and Christina Gierman.

He was graduated from Sunfield High School and Michigan Agricultural College. 
He was a lifelong member of the Sebewa United Methodist Church.  He worked as a
supervisor for the Farmers’ Home Administration in Ionia, until his retirement
in 1964.

He married Muriel Joynt on April 27, 1929.  She preceded him in death in 1986 in
Bradenton, Fla.

He is survived by daughter, Joanne Green of St. Louis, Mich.; and two sons, Karl
of Northville and Michael of Norfolk, Va.; eight grandchildren; 13 great
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held at the Masonic Home.  Cremation has taken place.  A
memorial has been established for the Sebewa United Methodist Church, in care of
the Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home of Alma.
