FRANK J. GIERMAN
Frank J. Gierman, 76, retired C & O Railroad engineer, died Wednesday afternoon at
his home at 406 Harter street following an illness of two month.

He was born May 18, 1887 in Ionia, the son of William and Mary Duffy Gierman and 
attended SS. Peter and Paul Academy.

For 48 years Mr. Gierman was employed by Pere Marquette and C & O railroads retiring
in 1952.

October 17, 1911, he was married at SS. Peter and Paul church to Mary Cecillia
McAlary who preceded him in death in April 1952

Mr. Gierman was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church and Brotherhood of 
Engineers and Fireman.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs.Thomas Hauck of Grand Rapids; a son, Frederick 
Gierman of Ionia; a sister, Mrs. George Klug of Ann Arbor, and a brother, Edward
Gierman of Lansing.

Rosary will be said Friday evening at 7:30 at Myers funeral home.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 o'clock Saturday morning at SS. Peter and Paul church
with burial at Mt. Olivet cemetery.
