Mr. Gierman suffered a stroke of paralysis in January but recovered so that he came down town, when he took cold, and the result was that congestion of the lungs caused his death. He leaves besides his wife, one son, Wm. Gierman, one brother, Frederick Gierman, both of this city, and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Hadsack, of this city, and Mrs. Fred Pilgrim, of Keene. Deceased was born in Germany and was 02 years of age. He was a stone mason by trade, and was one of the prominent and respected German residents of Ionia. The funeral was held from the Lutheran church at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, interment in Highland Park cemetery.
