Marcella I. Gierman age 90 of Portland, passed away September 27, 2010 in 
Grand Rapids. She was born August 19, 1920 in Superior, Wisconsin the 
daughter of Walter and Hanna (Halverson) Heintzlieman. Marcella married 
Wilbur Gierman March 24, 1943 in Potterville. She was a member of Sebewa 
Center United Methodist Church.

Marcella is survived by her loving husband of 67 years Wilbur Gierman of 
Portland; children, Cheryll Warren of Owosso, Janet (Leon) Rudd of Ionia and 
Eric (Lorri) Gierman of Jenison; daughter in law, Adrienne Gierman of 
Traverse City; brother, William (Josephine) Heintzleman of Lowell; sister, 
Lucille (Wesley) Meyers of Sunfield; grandchildren, Matt (Cariel) Warren, 
Mike Warren, Jason Gierman, Josh Gierman, Clint (Angy) Rudd, Jarrod (Heika) 
Rudd, Jackie (Todd) Holm, Kristen (James) Reed and Ryan Gierman; great 
grandchildren, Mitchell Holm, Madison Holm, Megan Holm, Jane Reed and Audrie 
Warren and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by 1 son, Rev. George, Son in law, John Warren; 
brothers, Alvin Heinteleman and Ray Heintzleman; sisters, Velma Heinteleman 
and Betty Heintzleman-Hasman; half-sisters, Lillian McCullum, Edith Edwins 
and Ethel Grover and half brother, Charles Heintzleman. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:00 A.M. at Sebewa Center United 
Methodist Church with Pastor Jeff Schrock and Pastor W.J. (Bill) Amundsen 
officiating. Interment East Sebewa Cemetery. The family will receive friends 
and relatives Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. 
Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions in Marcella's name to Sebewa 
Center United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be made at
