BEAUTIFUL WOMAN TAKEN IN EARLY LIFE
Many Friends Saddened by the Death of Mrs. Elta Lucas Gifford.
Funeral Thursday Afternoon

The many friends of Mrs. Elta Lucas Gifford were surprised and saddened to the 
news of her death at her home in North Adams Monday evening. She was well known 
by most people of the village as a splendid Christian young lady.

She was reared in a Christian home, a member of the local Congregational church 
and was faithful in Sunday school work. She always had a smile for everyone and 
was ever ready with any kindness or help of any kind.

She graduated from our high school with honors, took a business course and was 
bookkeeper for some time at the Poff garage and at the Dann Printing company. As 
a member of the Eastern Star she was faithful to her office and had she resigned 
here she would have probably had the honors of its highest office. 

Shortly after her marriage she went to live at North Adams where she resided at 
the time of her death. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon and burial 
will be at that place.
