Allen LeVer Gilbert, 47, of Belding, passed away Saturday evening, May 4, 2002,
at his home, under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Michigan.  The
son of LeVer and Rhea Sabin Gilbert, he was born April 1, 1955.

Allen was a graduate of Lakeview High School and worked as a truck driver and
excavating equipment operator.  He attended Shiloh Community Church, enjoyed
studying American history and was a true American patriot.  On May 23, 1981, at
Shiloh, he married the former Amy E. Mapes.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Emily Anne Gilbert, on Nov. 1,
1984.  Surviving are his wife of almost 21 years, Amy Gilbert; their two sons,
Andrew William Gilbert and Adam LeVer Gilbert, both of Belding; his parents,
LeVer “Butch” and Rhea Gilbert of Sheridan; a brother and sister-in-law, Bob and
Tracy Gilbert of Greenville; a sister and brother-in-law, Beverly Jo and Brian
Kissel of Sheridan; his maternal grandmother, Elinor Sabin; his mother-in-law,
Doris Milwood of Belding; many aunts and uncles, several siblings-in-law and a
number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Shiloh Community Church, with the Rev.
Kenneth Harger, pastor of Shiloh Community Church, and the Rev. Rolla Timmons,
pastor of Edmore First Church of God, officiating.  Burial will follow in
McBride Cemetery.  Envelopes for memorial contributions are available at
Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home, Greenville, where the family will
receive relatives and friends today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
