          SERVICES HELD FOR FORMER RESIDENT
   Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10 at the Pickens chapel for Charles
Gilbertson 75, following recovery of his body Sunday from Grand river at Ionia by 
Conservation officer Louis Kahl.
   Coroner Dale Kaufman said he thought Mr. Gilbertson was the previously
unidentified man who was struck by a Grand Trunk train May 15 and hurled into the 
Grand river as he was walking along the track near the county farm south west of 
Ionia, where he resided.
   Mr. Gilbertson had resided in this community for many years.
   Surviving are a brother and sister and several nieces.
   Burial was in Lakeside cemetery.
