Mr. Gilchrist of 444 East Lincoln, better known as Doc, died Friday morning at Ionia County Memorial hospital. He was born September 1, 1893 at Sand Lake. In 1938 he was married to Nellie Clack and lived most of his life in Ionia. He was a WWI veteran, member of American Legion, Moose lodge, Senior Citizens club and Disabled Veterans. Besides his wife Nellie, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Virgil Roundtree of Muir, Mrs. Arthur Fisher of Portland; three stepsons, John and Howard Clack of Ionia and Clifford Clack of Wyandotte; 15 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
