PORTLAND-  Marjorie L. Gilden, 83, of 407 Lincoln Street, Portland, died Feb. 4, 
in East Lansing.

She was born Sept. 27, 1900, in Sebewa, Mich., the daughter of William Alberts 
and Nettie Kelly.

She was a schoolteacher for 40 years in the Portland school system. She was a 
member of the Portland Ladies Library Club and the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles.

She is survived by one sister-in-law, Thelma Alberts of Lansing; and one nephew, 
William Alberts of Lansing; and one niece, Mrs. Alberta Manley of Lake Odessa.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the Neller Funeral Home with 
the Rev. Eleanor Morrison from the Portland Congregational Church officiating.

Burial was in the Portland Cemetery.

Donations may be left at the Neller Funeral Home for the Congregational Church.
