Born on February 22, 1934 in Racine, Wisconsin to Alton & Muriel Hansen. Patricia was the eldest of 5 children. The family moved to Trufant when Patricia was about 8 years of age. She attended Lakeview Public Schools. Attended Central Michigan University (CMU) where she studied to be a teacher.Her roommate,Louise Gillett, invited her brother at (WMU) to take her to the CMU Homecoming Dance.When Dave Gillett arrived he switched dates & he took Patricia to the dance. Dave Gillett & Patricia were married in August 1954 & were together nearly 70 years. She served with her parents at Pleasant Hill Bible Camp on Bass Lake near Gowen, MI where she learned her love of serving God's people. After several years living in Greenville, the family (now with 4 children) moved to Grand Raids where Pat finished her degree & became a preschool teacher in Northview Public schools. Patricia taught for 17 years & retired in 1991 & moved back to Greenville, near her mother,Muriel Hansen. They were active in St.Paul Lutheran Church were her mother was the church organist for many years. She loved spending time with her nine grandkids & more recently 7 great-grand kids, especially at their place at Turk Lake or their place in Ellenton, Fla. Patricia also enjoyed singing & playing the autoharp in a group named "The String-a-Lings" along with Dave that played the standup bass. Preceded in death by her parents, Alton & Muriel Hansen & daughters Pamela Gillett & Denise Gillett Ludwig. Survived by her husband, Dave Gillett of Zeeland; sister, Marilyn Nielsen of Gowen; brother Owen Hansen of Spring Lake & Noel Hansen of Canton,MI. Surviving children include Daniel (Sherrie)Gillett of Zeeland, Beth (Joel)Krgier of Kalamazoo, & Bruce (Katie) Gillett of Belmont, MI; as well as son-in-law, John (Jill) Ludwig fo Frankfort,Il. grandchildren include Joshua (Lydia)Gillett of Zeeland, Neil (Samantha)Ludwig of S. Chicago suburbs, Alicia Ludwig of S.Chicago suburbs, Samuel (Michele) Krygier of Kalamazoo, Abigail (Zane) Burris fo Lawton & Isabelle, Isaac, & Eli Gillett of Belmont,MI.& step-grandchildren, Eric of Dallas TX, Andrew of Dallas,TX & Audrey Studer of Chicago. Great-grandchildren, Beckett, Jayden, Elliana, Josie, Paisley, Skyla & Kinsley plus nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m Wed. March 27, at St Paul, Lutheran Church (9844 SW Greenville Rd, Greenville,MI.48838) Rev. Nan Dehnke & Rev.Wayne Otten will serve as officiants. Visitation will be Tuesday 5:30-8:30p.m at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville,MI.
