                     VIRGINIA L. (SLOCUM) GILLETTE

LAKE ODESSA - Virginia L. Slocum Gillette, 63, of 600 River St., Lansing, 
formerly of Lake Odessa died Thursday in Sparrow Hospital, Lansing.

Born Sept. 21, 1920, in Lansing, she was the daughter of Jack and Hazel Slocum. 
She attended Lansing Eastern High School.

She was married to Arnold Wilson in 1943; he died in 1973. She was married to 
Rex Gillette in October 1973 in Lake Odessa; he survives. She lived most of her 
life in the Lansing and Lake Odessa areas.

Surviving in addition to her husband, are five daughters, Carol Lippe of 
Humboldt, Iowa, Jeanie Topp of Essex, Iowa, Glenna Petryk and Mary Wilson of 
Grand Rapids and Gloria Wilson of Lansing; two sons, Earl Wilson of Ithaca and 
Ronald Wilson of Lake Odessa; 15 grandchildren; and three brothers, Donald and 
Bob Slocum of Lansing and Jim Slocum of Belding.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake 
Odessa.Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.

The family will be at the Funeral Chapel Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m.
