        Excerpts from Grand Rapids Obituary

                DAVID JON GILLETTE

Died Saturday June 26, 2010-age 63 of Grandville, on a Kayaking accident in 
Canada.
David graduated from Saranac High School in 1965 & was involved in DeMolay.
He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict.
Preceded in death by his parents Wallace & Veneitta Gillette, son, Eric & wife 
Myrna.
Survived by his daughter Carrie (Jeff)Fletcher; grandchildren, Kirin & Ashton; 
sister, Alice (Rich) Powell; niece Kris Petrusch; nephew,Matt Billings; special 
friends, Susan Schmidt & Susan & Dean Childers.
David was an active part of Temple Emanuel, proud conservative member of the Old 
Poops Group, handyman & great friend to all.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 2, 2010 at 11 :00 a.m. at Temple Emanuel, 
1715 E.Fulton Street.
Visitation Thursday 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Chapel.
May made memorial contributions to Faith Hospice in memory of David.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Service, 4291 
Cascade Rd.SE at Kenmoor, E of 1-96
