The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, January 27, 2009

Betty Ann Gilliland, age 78, of Ionia, passed away Jan. 25, 2009 in Ionia.  
She was born May 30, 1930 in Indonesia.  She married Carl Corbeau in 1950; he 
preceded her in death in 1958.  She then married Wayne Gilliland; he preceded 
her in death in 1989.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Karen (Steve) Joynt of Florida; 
grandchildren, Melissa Millard of Ionia, Jerud Joynt of Three Rivers, Travis 
Joynt of Grand Rapids, Marcus Millard of North Carolina and Jessica Joynt 
Balahoski of Grand Rapids, and 8 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in 
death by her parents; 1 brother August de Groot and 1 sister, Ardythe Philo. 

A private family service will be held at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.  Anyone 
wishing may make a memorial contribution in Betty’s name to Ionia Commission 
on Aging.
