Services to be Held for Mrs.Elsie Gilliland
Mrs. Elsie Gilliland 79, passed away early Wednesday morning at Borgess 
Hospital, Kalamazoo, after a long illness. She had been hospitalized 16 days.

A native of Ionia county, she was the daughter of Charles and Ella Kart and had 
been a resident of the area most of her life.

Mrs. Gilliland was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and former member of the Blue 
Star Mothers Chapter.

Surviving are three daughters Mrs Ernest (Margaret) Burt of Columbiaville, Mrs. 
Plynn (Doris) Collier and Mrs.Raymond (Mary) Cowles of Kalamazoo, four sons, 
George of Kalamazoo, Charles of Harrisburg, Pa., Wayne of Ionia and Thomas of 
rural Freeport; 6 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her husband Bert 
passed away in September 1945 and a son Karl in 1961.

Mrs. Gilliland reposes at the Pickens Funeral Chapel where services will be held 
Friday at 1:30 with burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
