September 7, 1972 Services Held for Onalee Gilliland Mrs. Onalee M.Gilliland, 50 of Ionia, former Lake Odessa resident, passed away Friday morning at Blodgett Memorial Hospital, Grand Rapids where she was hospitalized for seven weeks. She was born in Detroit January 23, 1922, daughter of Verl and Edna (Urshel) Anway and moved with her parents to the Lake Odessa area when a small child. She married H.Wayne Gilliland of Lake Odessa, February 14, 1942 and had been a resident of Ionia for 17 years. Mrs. Gilliland was a member of First United Methodist Church of Ionia. Surviving are her husband; two sons, David of Ionia and Stephen of Okemos; her mother and step-father Mr and Mrs Harold Dronenberg of rural Sunfield; six sisters, Mrs.Charles (Geraldine) Prys of Marne, Mrs.Loraine Chorley and Mrs.Arnold (Bethel) McLeod of Lake Odessa; Mrs.Joseph (Joan) Baker and Mrs.Leonard (Joyce) Williams of Woodland, and Mrs.William (Shirley) Estep of Sunfield; three brothers, LeRoy Anway of Sparta Donald Anway of Detroit and Richard Anway of Roy, Utah. Funeral services were held Sunday at two o'clock at Pickens Funeral Chapel at Lake Odessa. Rev. Charles W. Fullmer of Ionia officiated with burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
