Excerpts from Portland Obituary

ELAINE G. (HARTWICK) GILMORE
d. March 9, 2022-age 66 at Portland
Born December 4, 1955 daughter of Melvin and Jeanette Hartwick.
One of 7 children in the Hartwick family.
Preceded in death by both of her parents; her mother & father-in-law; brother-
in-law, Stan, Bob & Bill, Case; nephew, Lane; infant granddaughter, Kaitlin 
Elaine & some of her close friends.
Survived by her husband,Larry, who had devoted his life to caring for her & 
being #1 supporter. They were married in Portland,MI on August 1, 1981.
They celebrated their 40 wedding anniversary, celebrating each anniversary at a 
cabin overlooking Houghton Lake.
Also survived by her children that she loved so much, Troy (Chantelle) Hartwick, 
Stacy Gloden, Lori (Brady) Hall, Beth (Rick) Powers & Bonnie Smith; her 
grandchildren-the light of her life,Natalie (Forrest) Wood, Tray, Ray, Ajay, & 
Collin Huff, Trevor Gloden,Ian, Jesse & Cameron Schneider, Lotus & Xavier 
Burhans, Elizabeth Powers, Jason (Dominique), Sheri, Chase, & Tori Arrell. Eight 
great-grand babies & one on the way.Also survived by all of her brothers & 
sisters, Noble (Rose) Hartwick, Lana (Faro) Gervasi, Doris Russell, jerry 
Murphy, Lane (Bonnie) Hartwick, and Pete (Lisa) Hartwick, many cousins, nieces, 
nephews & amazing friends & neighbors.
Elaine loved to drive her golf cart with family during the summer & fall months.
She loved to tend to her flower gardens, keeping the weeds out & loved feeding 
crackers to her goat, Ellie Mae.
A Celebration of Life will be at noon, Sunday March 27, 2022 at the Grand River
Conservation Club, 7345 Lyons Road, Portland, MI 48875.
Condolences may be sent the family at 9088 Marsalle road, Portland,MI 48875.
Memorial Contributions received by family will be donated to the Multiple 
Sclerosis Association of America in honor of Elaines 40 year battle with MS 
(www.mysaa.org)
