Paul E. Gladding, 91, passed away Sunday, Aug. 9, 1998.  He was born February 
23, 1907, in Montcalm County, the son of Lemuel and Raphella (Hopkins) 
Gladding.  He was married to Marian Zimmer in Portland on Sept. 19, 1921.  He 
moved to Lyons in 1935.  He owned the Gladding Dairy and was a farm implement 
dealer. He was also the Lyons Village President and a member of the fire 
department.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pewamo.

Surviving are his wife, Marian, of Lyons; son, Larry of Lyons; brother, 
Lemuel, of Palo, and three grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his 
parents, six brothers and three sisters.

Funeral mass will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, at St. Joseph Catholic 
Church, Pewamo.  Prayer vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11.  
Visitation is today from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. 
and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hull Memorial Chapel, Muir.  Interment will be in 
Sunset Gardens, Ionia.
