Gladding, 65, of Lyons passed away July 29, 2002 in Ann Arbor of leukemia. He was born Feb. 25, 1937 in Lyons, the son of Chester and Ivah (Maus) Gladding. He would go on to marry Carol Hodgman May 24, 1962. He was employed by General Motors where he worked as a chip handler until retiring in 1993 after 28 years of service. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Carol of Lyons; his mother, Ivah Gladding of Gladwin; sons, Mark Gladding of Minnesota, Doug Gladding of Lyons and Robert Gladding of Saranac; one sister, Lois (Larry) Lawless of Gladwin; and several special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Gladding. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday at the Lyons Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Vincent officiating. Interment to follow at Lyons Cemetery. Visitation is 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Thursday at the Lake Funeral Home - Hull Memorial Chapel in Muir.
