Frances C. Gladding, 96, of Saranac passed away March 25, 2012 in Grand Rapids. 
She was born Sept. 18, 1915 in Ionia, the daughter of Carl and Myrtle (Maynard) 
Krueger. Frances married Cecil H. Gladding Oct. 12, 1935. He preceded her in 
death in 1972.

Frances founded and operated Gladding Saranac Brand Food Products. She was a 
member of Saranac Community Church and Saranac American Legion Ladies 
Auxillary. She loved spending time with her family at the lake and wintering in 
Arizona. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball, bowling and golfing.

Frances is survived by her children, Diane (Michael) Carpenter of Jenison and 
Carl (Mary) Gladding of Lakeview; grandchildren, Michael (Dawn) Carpenter Jr. 
of Jenison, Scott (JoAnn) Gladding of Grand Rapids, Casi (Matthew) Costner of 
Alabama and Shana (Andrew) Carpenter-Wyns of Kentwood; 12 great-grandchildren 
and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, at Lake Funeral Home 
in Saranac with Mr. Allen MacDonald officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday 
11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Interment Clear Lake 
Cemetery. Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions in her name to Saranac 
Community Church.
