Gleason, long time resident and business man of Lyons, a veteran of the Civil war, and member of the old grocery firm of Dougherty & Gleason, died on Friday night at the age of 73 years. Mr. Gleason enlisted in 61 in Co. B., Eighth Michigan Infantry. He was wounded in the Battle of the Wilderness, and was taken prisoner and lay eight months in Andersonville prison. The wife and two daughters survive, the daughters being, Mrs. Frank Hale of Lyons and Mrs. Elmer Hale of this city. Deceased enlisted in same company, at same time, with Samuel Stowell of Easton, and they were companions throughout the war, as they have been greatly attached as friends since. He was a staunch friend, and though he had passed the allotted age of three score years and ten, his passing will be deeply deplored by many. Funeral on Monday afternoon at 2;00 o'clock.
