The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Tuesday, June 1, 1909
Dr. S. M. Gleason died at his home, Pleasant street, at 5 o’clock Monday 
morning after a long illness.  Funeral from the residence at 8 o’clock 
Thursday morning, burial at Hubbardston.  

The deceased came here a few years ago and practiced medicine as long as he 
was able to get around.  He is survived by his wife and daughter, also his 
mother at Sparta, two brothers, J. P. Gleason and A. W. Gleason, of Newaygo, 
and two sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Raymour, of Sparta and Mrs. Evaline Dodge of 
Crystal Falls.
