Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Sat. July 1, 1978

IONIA- Marion L. Godden, 43, of 477 Rice street, died Friday morning of a heart 
attack suffered at her home.

She was born in Ionia December 14, 1934, the daughter of Ralph and Lucille 
Simmons Montgomery.

She attended schools in Ionia, graduating from Ionia high school in 1952. She 
worked for several years at the Ionia Theater and at Mitchell-Bentley from 1955 
to 1969. She also was employed at Gibson Products in Belding.

She married William Godden in Ionia November 1, 1969.

Mrs. Godden was a former member of the Women of the Moose. 

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Katherine of Ionia; her mother, 
Mrs. Lucille Montgomery of Ionia; one sister Mrs. Charles (JoAnn) Strickling of 
Ionia.

Services are Monday at 3 pm from the Leddick funeral home with Rev. Roy A. 
Pitts officiating.

Burial is in Easton cemetery.

A memorial fund is established for the Michigan Heart Fund.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home Saturday, 7 
to 9 pm and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
