Mrs. Gondolff had been ill only a week, death was attributed to complication of diseases. The deceased born in Ormusweiler, Lorrain, France, and came to this country with her parents, Casper and Christine Andres, when 11 years of age. They settled in the Miriam community where Mrs. Gondolff had spent the better part of her life. Her first marriage in 1882 was to Nicholas Jacoby who passed from this life ten years later. Two children survive from this union, Mrs. Celia Andres of Ionia and Mrs. George Feuerstein of Miriam. Mr. and Mrs. Gondolff were married in 1897. The husband, two daughters, Mrs. Ray Host of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Anthony Marhofer at home, also 21 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren are left to mourn this mother’s sudden death; also a sister, Mrs. Mary Henige of Portland, Oregon, and two brothers, Peter of Ypsilanti and John of Miriam. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9 o’clock at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Miriam. Interment will be in the cemetery there. The community has lost a staunch friend and the family a devoted mother in the passing of this Christian woman.
