Ionia Sentinel, 2001

Maxine A. Gonnella, 85, of Saranac, passed away July 17, 2001 at the Heartland 
Health Care Center in Ionia.

She was born the daughter of Arthur and Mae (Loomis) Randall on Jan. 8, 1916 in 
Ionia.  Maxine graduated from the Ionia High School in 1934.  She married 
Alfred J. Gonnella on Aug. 9, 1937 and he preceded her in death in 1968.

She worked for the City of Ionia as Deputy Clerk/Treasurer from 1955-1972.  She 
also worked at the Ionia County Health Department from 1977-1985.

Surviving are two sons, Gary (Shari) Gonnella of Ionia and Alfred (Julie) 
Gonnella II of Fenwick; four granddaughters, Sonya, Traci, Kathy and Tammi; one 
great-grandson, John Morgan Wagner.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday at the Easton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Ionia County Commission on Aging in 
care of Cook Funeral Home in Ionia.
