The Ionia County News, Thursday, January 23, 1936

Mrs. Matthew Gooby, 48, died at her home in Berlin township Monday night after 
a two months illness.

Viola Richardson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Richardson, was born at 
Sears in 1888.  In 1918, when she was 20 years of age, she was united in 
marriage with Matthew Gooby.  The marriage took place in Grand Rapids and they 
came to Ionia twelve years ago, where they resided until going to Berlin 
township about 1927.

The funeral will be conducted by Rev. Paul L. Stewart, from the Bradley 
Funeral home Friday afternoon at 2:30.
