He had been ill with pneumonia. His wife preceded him in death in 1937. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Keziah Mull of Fairwell, Mrs. Emma Bogert of Bloomer township, and Mrs. Hattie McMullen of Ionia; one brother, Matthew Gooby, of Ionia. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Palo Methodist church. Rev. F. G. Dunbar, pastor of the Ionia Methodist church, will officiate and burial will be in the family lot in Palo cemetery. The body will repose at the Myers funeral home until Friday at 1 o’clock when it will repose at the Palo Methodist church until time for services. Another Publication: The Ionia County News, Thursday, March 25, 1943 John Goody, widely known farmer, died of pneumonia about 12:30 Tuesday afternoon, March 23, at his home in Bloomer township, Montcalm county. He was 81 years old. He is survived by a brother Mathew Gooby, Ionia, and three sisters, Mrs. H. McMullen, Ionia; Mrs. Emma Bogert, Bloomer township and Mrs. K. Mull, of Farwell. Funeral service will be from the Palo Methodist church at two o’clock Friday afternoon. Rev. F. G. Dunbar of the Ionia Methodist church will officiate and burial will be in Palo cemetery beside his wife who died seven years ago.
