Ionia Sentinel Standard, 7 Feb 1923

The funeral for Mary Gooby, who died at Bridgeport, Conn., Tuesday morning,
following an operation for goitre, will be held at Darby, Conn., on Thursday,
February 7.  Miss Gooby, who was the daughter of Matthew Gooby, of this city,
and Mrs. Edwin E. Baldwin, and was 19 years old.  She attended the Ionia public
schools until a few years ago.  She had spent the past summer [unreadable word]
in Ionia and the news of her death came as a shock to her many girl friends here.
