Mrs. Louisa S. Goodall, a Respected Resident for Sixty Years, Entered the New Life. Mrs. Louisa S. Goodall died at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, at the home on High street, after a long and painful illness, borne with exemplary fortitude. She was a daughter of David and Sarah A. Baldie, prominent in the early history of Ionia, who located here in 1844. Mrs. Goodall was born in Herkimer county, N. Y., Jan. 26, 1831. She was married to Peter B. Stiven in 1853, and to them were born three children: Mary A., deceased; Mrs. A. L. Templeton and Fred A. Stiven, of this city. Peter B. Stiven died in Detroit in 1858, and Mrs. Stiven returned to Ionia, and engaged in the millinery business. She was married Jan. 11, 1866, to Alex. Goodall, who died Nov. 27, 1899. Mrs. Goodall was one of a family of six children, of whom two brothers and one sister survive: Henry Baldie and Fred S. Baldie of Seattle, Washington, and Miss Margaret Baldie of this city. Mrs. Goodall was nest to the oldest member, now living, of the Presbyterian church of this city. She was a true woman in all the relations of life, devoted to her family, and with a life full of good deeds, to cause her memory to be long cherished.
